Feek, part of country duo Joey+Rory, succumbed to cancer in March of 2016. "She didn't have a chance to do it until she had been diagnosed with stage four cancer, and so she sang her vocals in hotel rooms while she did chemo and radiation".

2016 was a year jam-packed with incredible music, but we also lost many talented performers as well, one of those being country music star Joey Feek.

Rory Feek left the audience welling up at the Grammys on Sunday night as he dedicated his award to his late wife and duet partner Joey. She lost her courageous battle with terminal cancer in March 2016, just one month after their last album was released. It is the last piece recorded together by the duo and became one of the top-selling albums of the year.

"I feel the choices that she made, I feel the strength that she had and the love that she has for me and our family". But, she [might be] playing outside with her grandma.

Despite all the hardships and the loss of his true love, Rory remains optimistic.

Tuesday, Rory appeared on the "Today Show" to talk about the GRAMMY and his book, "This Life I Live". She started taking steps and she really took about eight steps at her little school-she goes to a special needs school in Nashville. It tells the story of Rory's life, including how he met a woman named Joey Martin.
