Why would I be? As a longtime fan, I can solidly confirm that this season has been boring as hell.

Rachel was mum on the details; though apparently her season of "The Bachelorette" starts filming in a couple weeks so she couldn't keep the secret much longer. Watching Rachel on the show has felt like watching myself on the show - and not just because we're both black.

"I'm so beyond thrilled", Caridi exclusively tells Us Weekly. "I think she's going to be great". She also happens to be a woman of color. It's become increasingly hard, with social media and the popularity of a site like Reality Steve's, for the show to exist in a bubble, and to be non-responsive to the pressures exerted by the outside world on this insular one. When she's not trying to find a love connection on national television, she is a lawyer in Texas.

The father-of-two added: "Thanks to frequent body checks and wonderful doctors, all is well". Now, he goes for checkups every three months. "So, it's the new normal for everybody".

Rachel wasn't about the drama. In fact, it may have been one of the first facts Lindsay shared with Bachelor Nick Viall. She will become the show's first-ever black star, handing out roses and choosing the man of her dreams. And the viewers saw that, too. And I loved that show, and those shows, but I appreciated Rachel for being more like me - calmer, quieter, more observant and less attention-seeking. He said: "Oh, we have to wedge African-American chicks in there!"

I appreciated that, even though her next date with Nick wasn't until New Orleans, Rachel spent the interim building friendships with the women instead of picking fights. Though DeGeneres praised the pick, she admitted she was surprised after Rachel and Nick had hit it off early on. Rachel Lindsay, who is now a contestant on "The Bachelor", will be named officially as the next "Bacherlotte" on Monday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live". I've given this a lot of thought (because my own life is dull) and here's what I've come up with.

In the franchise's 15-year history - that's 21 seasons of The Bachelor and 12 of The Bachelorette - there has been only one non-white lead, Juan Pablo Galavis. It was the same choice, the old choice, however you want to spin it.

But the Bachelor Nation regular went on to note that though the show is accurate, it doesn't tell the full story.

The Bachelor airs on Mondays at 7 pm; Jimmy Kimmel Live airs at 10:35 pm.
