This most recent procedure marks the fifth basal cell carcinoma removed from his nose, and the X-Men star also had skin cancer cells removed from his shoulder.

This form of cancer is common and usually entirely treatable.

Jackman's wife Deborra-Lee Furness first noticed the mark and encouraged him to get it checked. "I swear! #wearsunscreen", wrote the 48-year-old Sydney-born Jackman, who paid $56 million for a low-rise penthouse apartment in Australia's North Bondi in March last year. In 2013, he revealed his cancer diagnosis for the first time. "Boy, was she right!" The actor has been extremely open about the cancer, often sharing photos on social media and urging his followers to wear sunscreen. "PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups", he wrote.
